As a matter of choice, each year
very few kittens are born in my cattery.
It is of fundamental importance for
me to know that the kittens are
adoptedby persons whom I can trust wholeheartedly. By
only allowing a few
kittens to be born I can becertain that I find a suitable
home for each of them.
I prefer to know personally the person who adopts one of
my Devons and that
is why I prefer not to ship them unaccompanied, whether
in Italy or abroad.
Anyone wanting to adopt a little Devon must be able to
answer many questions and agree to
somethingthat for me is fundamental: the cat should never
be allowed to roam freely outdoors.

Devons are very trusting and
friendly: roaming freely around would expose
them to a number of risks. Moreover, cats who live
outdoors are exposed to serious
and incurable illnesses such as leukemia, feline AIDS,
infectious peritonitis; allowing a cat to
come into contact with other infected cats would be
placing its life in serious danger.
This is one of the reasons why I prefer to entrust my
Devons only to those persons
who will guarantee that they live indoors.

Kittens are given to their new
"parents" only when I am certain they have
reached
a certain level of independence and maturity (physical
and emotional):
this generally does not occur prior to three and a half
months (and in some cases, four).
The kitten will be given all that it will need for the
first few days in its new home,
the relevant vaccinations, the pedigreed (TICA or
ANFI/FIFe), ownership papers.
I will also be available for any assistance or advice to
guarantee that the kitten
has no difficulty in adapting to its new environment.
